Safeguarding is protecting adults at risk or children from abuse or neglect. Working together to safeguard adults at risk and children is very important in our society. It is imperative for people delivering training in this industry to be aware of safeguarding due to the adults at risk and children we will be working with. People who attend the courses do so for a variety of reasons, business, personal safety awareness, confidence building. 1 in 4 people have suffered some form of abuse as children therefore have their own safeguarding history.
Wednesday, I attended a safeguarding awareness course at Lilleshall Nation Sports and conferencing centre near Newport Shropshire. The course was delivered by Andy Gibb. Andy has worked in health care for over 30 years. He works with NFPS (the national federation for personal safety) in delivering Safeguarding courses. Director of staff training company Ltd – safeguarding adults and children at risk.
As a result of attending this course, and from my own personal experiences, I am fully aware of previous safeguarding issues that people may have and the emotional responses that may arise from some of the scenario based techniques that I teach. I promise to promote both the physical and emotional well-being of the students that undertake my classes at all times. I look forward to meeting those of you attending my courses and hope to make it an enjoyable experience for all.
